Apparently my last journal entry was in 2014. That was a fair amount of time ago and a lot has happened since then. I'll spare you all the details as this is my art space, not a social media bonanza (Well, not that kind, at least).

Since my last journal entry my art has died and then had a rebirth. I've learned a lot of new techniques and tricks that I have been and still am applying as I go along creating, unearthing, revisiting, reformatting and finishing up artworks of all shapes and sizes (but mainly of the A4 variety). When I say that my art 'died', I'm referring more to a lack thereof. After my 'Lisette' painting of around August 2014, I didn't do much in the way of artwork for almost half a year and didn't post anything for almost a year. I regained a little of my momentum come early 2015 and it has been slowly getting faster and better as time goes by. My goal this year is to post at least 12 artworks to my featured gallery (one for each month). An easy feat for a lot of you who post multiple artworks every five minutes, but for someone like me who has lost his mojo baby, I'd be pretty happy with achieving this goal. I think it's doable. I knocked out my two latest drawings ('The Gravity Queen' and 'Shade') within 3 days, which is something I haven't done since I was in art school in the mid 2000's. So that in itself is a hurdle I have jumped and I feel pretty good about that.

Not to mention, despite only having posted 4 new drawings (5 if you count my game screen for 'Only the Lonely'), I have been doing other little artworks and designs here and there. Quite consistently actually. Around March to April I worked on the art for a choose your own adventure mobile game titled 'Only the Lonely' with a couple of friends which should be coming out later in the year if all goes to plan (I'll post about it when it does). I've also been working on, not one, but both of my graphic novels. From around late last year to the present I have been working on a scene from my 'Funk Hunters' comic. It's mostly a test scene to see how I'm going to illustrate and colour it and to see if it flows well. So far the scene is looking pretty cool. At present I'm working on colouring one of the pages to get an idea on what it could potentially look like. If it turns out I'll probably post it. If not, I'll still post it but it will be in my scraps. In terms of my other comic, 'The Exterminators', I've been redesigning (for the millionth time) my set of main characters. I'm feeling it's getting to that point where it feels real enough that I could do some test storyboards. Watch this space.

So that's it so far. There are a few other little things here and there too but I won't overflow this journal entry more than it already has been. The future looks bright for my artwork if I carry on the way I am. Looking forward to posting some new stuff for all y'all.

Shade by AuntyRichie
Shade
'Shade' - the highly disturbing enemy from 'The Evil Within' DLC, 'The Assignment' and 'The Consequence'.

This was one of those things where the character was so creepy and amazingly designed that I had to draw it. Everything about this monster is fecking cool, right down to it's voice. Which is creepy as hell.... and when it finds you, it's spotlight goes red, you become slow and dizzy and it's a matter of time before it catches up to you and demolishes you with it's hidden mouth, which happens to be big enough to eat you in one bite.

Drawn with HB and 2B pencils, inked with a 0.3 fibre tipped pen and coloured in Photoshop CS6.

The Gravity Queen by AuntyRichie
The Gravity Queen
Kat, aka The Gravity Queen, feat. Dusty from Gravity Rush.
Finished the game a couple of months back and totally loved it. Aside from it being too short! Oh well, there's a sequel coming in late November/early December so not long to wait till I can delve back into the world of Gravity Rush.

Drawn with HB, 2B and 8B pencils, inked with 0.1 and 0.3 fibre tipped pens and coloured in Photoshop CS6.

I AM still around, and there IS new art being done. Watch this space! ;D
I would've made this a journal entry, but I think I'll wait till I've added the new stuff I've been working on over the past couple of months before making a new entry. So again..... SPACE. WATCH. ;D
Only the Lonely - Title Screen by AuntyRichie
Only the Lonely - Title Screen
The title screen for a text based choose your own adventure game me and a couple of friends are making for Android and iOS. I'm in charge of the art, hence why I haven't posted anything since February. Been busy with this bad boy. Shouldn't be too far away from a release, though. I'll keep y'all posted if you're interested.
